CENTRAL DISTRICT

Bringing you greetings on behalf of the members of the Central District.

It is indeed a pleasure to extend heartfelt greetings to everyone. We are small in numbers but mighty in Deeds. Currently there are two adult clubs, a youth and a Young Adult (collegiate) club.

Our District has been “Lifting and Climbing" since 1923 with the Jr. Daughters of Dorcas and in
1945 with the Model Mothers Club. The youth club was organized in 1999 -the Stepping
Forward Youth Group
and the first young adult club for North Carolina was inducted in 2023 at
Shaw University, Raleigh NC – Ella Josephine Baker Women of Excellence (WOE).

We enjoy the opportunities to serve our community, fellowship together and support our youth. It is indeed a privilege to be members of the North Carolina Federation of Colored Women’s Clubs and Affiliates of the Southeastern Region of the National Association of Colored Women’s Clubs.

Like other districts we have seen many clubs fall along the wayside and struggle to exist. However, we remain challenged and committed to keep the dream and endeavors of our Federated Sisters alive and keep “Lifting As We Climb”.

Greetings

from the Phenominal Central District

Let us continue inspiring, and to stay  encouraged to fight for a great organization. It's a worthy cause for our community, youth, young adults. Let's continue through to the upcoming year, 2026 to continue the great work of this organization.

Thank you my sisters and to the community and to the organization itself.

Let greatness continue to follow and to be better and greater than the year before lifting as we climb.

Regards,

Jr Daughters of Dorcas
